California summer rock duo Best Coast is bringing some West Coast vibes to Columbus, OH, on June 18th. The show is just one in the first week of the band's massive summer tour across the United States with forays into Australia and Japan.

Best Coast originally formed in 2009 and is made up of vocalist/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and accompanying guitarist/instrumentalist Bobb Bruno. In just a few short years the pair has gained recognition for their signature California summer alt-rock with radio favorites "Boyfriend" and "The Only Place."

Best Coast recently released their third full-length album California Nights on May 4, which reached the number three position on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. California Nights flawlessly melds 80s pop catchiness with California pop-punk inspired odes that summon up twinges of Blink-182 and Greenday. Cosentino's vocals are simply delivered as she tells personal stories of loss, love, good times, and whimsical musings. Listening to Best Coast is like stepping into the journal of a best friend you've never met with an accompanying killer soundtrack.

The duo begins their summer-long tour Friday June 12, stopping at Newport Music Hall in Columbus on June 18th and will be going strong until the end of September. Not only is it peak summer touring and festival season, it's an ideal time for Best Coast to transmit their eclectic, euphoric summer anthems to the masses. Best Coast's summer tour has already sold out dates in Boston and Washington, DC, demonstrating the band's definite live presence. This is not a show to hesitate on.

General admission tickets are currently $18.00 dollars in advance and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. The band will be touring with Bully, an indie rock band from Nashville, Tennessee.
