Clowntown Premieres in Cleveland

Nick Lotz

“Two cannibals walk into a bar and sit beside this clown. The first cannibal wacks the clown on the head and they both start eating the clown. Suddenly the second cannibal looks up and says, "Hey, do you taste something funny?"

“You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?”

                                                                                    -Joe Pesci, Goodfellas

Have you guys heard this one? A clown walks into a bar, and then MURDERS EVERYONE. You probably haven’t, because I just made it up (oh Nick, you’re so clever). If you liked that joke though, then you’ll adore Clowntown, the indie horror flick co-produced by Crestline, OH native and From Dusk ‘til Dawn and Wishmaster makeup effects artist Robert Kurtzman.

The film, directed by Tom Nagel and Jeff Miller of B horror movie fame, is premiering this Friday, as in tomorrow at the Capitol Theatre in Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. It was filmed in Crestline, Cleveland, and Westlake Ohio, and stars a cast so local and B horror glory magnificent that you’ll be smiling as you scream at the film’s fear factor (much as a clown does). The plot centers around...who fucking cares? It’s a movie about killer clowns. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Tickets can be purchased here, but they’re moving fast, so be certain and grab a hold of this one while you can (unless you’re a total pussy who can’t handle watching a freaking movie about clowns).
